Geneva Park District Introduces "The Community Gardens at Prairie Green"
Beginning this spring, Garden Plots will be available at the new Community Gardens at Prairie Green. The Community Gardens at Prairie Green is a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, the City of Geneva and the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. This exciting project provides gardeners with the opportunity to participate in community gardening.

How Many Plots Are Available?
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green features 124 garden plots and is located on the west side of Geneva at Peck and Bricher Road. Each garden plot measures 20 ft by 30 ft. There are 112 plots for annual growers and 12 plot are designated for organic growers.
The planting season will run from the third week of April through October 31, weather dependent. Plots will be staked and ready for planting at the earliest possible date with the consideration of weather and soil conditions. The garden plots will be open from dawn to dusk. The Geneva Park District will oversee the seasonal operation of the garden. Park District staff rototill all of the plots after October 31st on an annual basis.
Interested in Renting a Plot?
A random lottery will be held on March 15, 2012 for Geneva Park District residents and on March 16 for non-residents. Garden Plot Reservations must be made in person at Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Avenue or Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road in Geneva.
Plot Fee: $45 Geneva Park District Residents/$60 Non-Residents
