Outdoor Ice Skating

Use of the rinks is free.  All ice rinks are weather permitting. Bring your own skates (rentals are not available).  Parking is available at both locations. 

WHEELER PARK SKATING RINKS

The outdoor ice rinks at Wheeler Park will be located by the Wheeler Park Maintenance Facility, 410 Wheeler Drive. From Rt. 31, turn west on Stevens Street (south of Stone Creek Miniature Golf), and right on Wheeler Drive (just past the cemetery).  There will be two sheets of ice available at Wheeler Park — one dedicated for general skating and one for hockey.
 

MILL CREEK POOL SKATING RINK

An additional outdoor ice skating rink will be available in the grassy area next to Mill Creek Pool, 39W125 South Mill Creek Drive.
 

ICE MAKING AND ICE RINK STATUS

In order for the appropriate amount of ice to be prepared, the temperature has to remain at 20 degrees or below for at least 48 hours. Once we have reached those ideal conditions, the process of forming ice will begin and the enjoyment of skating will follow. Thank you for your patience.

Colored flags will be attached to the rink fences indicating the rink status. A green flag means the rink is open for skating;  a yellow flag means the rinks are open, but please use caution; a red flag means that the rink is closed.
