The Geneva Park District’s Playhouse 38 is the ultimate community theatre experience in downtown Geneva! It is host to theatre productions and classes and provides children, teens, and adults an outlet to be creative, expressive, and have fun. Participants of all backgrounds and experiences are welcome. We also encourage audiences of all ages to purchase tickets below and join us for our next performance! Playhouse 38 is located at 321 Stevens Street, Suite P. Once in the parking lot, access the entrance in the back of the building.
Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge tells the story of Eddie Carbone, an Italian American longshoreman who lives with his wife, Beatrice, and his niece, Catherine. When Beatrice’s cousins, Marco and Rodolpho, arrive illegally from Italy and move into the Carbones’ small apartment, Eddie becomes conflicted and leads the family on a tragic path.

Meet the Director:
Jay Fontanetta has been directing plays and musicals in Chicago and the surrounding area for the last 25 years. He holds a B.A. From Columbia College in Directing, an M.A. From Roosevelt University in Theatre Education, and an M.A. from Olivet-Nazarene University in Fine Arts Administration. Past directing credits include working for Circle Theatre, Azusa Productions, North Riverside Players, Wheaton Drama, Theatre of Western Springs, Brightside Theatre, and several local high schools. Jay is a member of the Illinois Theatre Association and currently heads the theatre program and teaches at Geneva High School.
Playhouse 38 is excited to bring on the big, bright, beautiful world of Shrek Jr. based on the fantastic Broadway musical and family favorite film.

Alex Wisniewski is currently pursuing a degree at College of DuPage with a degree in arts and a specialization in theatre. He has a love of theatre, dance, and singing and has performed a number of roles, including a leading role in The Spongebob Musical, as well as roles in High School Musical, Guys and Dolls, Singin’ in the Rain and more. Alex recently performed on the Playhouse 38 stage for the Summer Adult Cabaret and the adult production of Murder’s in the Heir. He has been a huge part of the Playhouse 38 directing team this year with his work on Attack of the Zombies, Willy Wonka Jr, and Stone Soup. He is thrilled to share his love of theatre and performing arts with the Playhouse 38 community!
Leah Kamm
Music Director
Leah Kamm has been teaching elementary general music for 26 years. During that time, she has had the pleasure of directing numerous children’s choirs, as well as teaching private piano and voice lessons. She has an MEd in music education, an MA in curriculum and instruction, and is National Board Certified in early and middle childhood music. She was the music director for Playhouse 38’s Frozen Jr. and is excited to be back to work with the wonderful student performers of Shrek Jr.
